God sees everything, but will God do something? – Ruby, a struggling atheist, decides to explore faith by serving in the Church, seeking a sense of belonging. Encouraged by Sister Teresa, she embraces the experience, only to fall victim to Father Angelo, who took advantage of her, shattering both her purity and spirit.
 
When Ruby confesses to the priest that she is carrying his child, he shifts the blame onto her and urges her to have an abortion. Returning home, she faces her abusive mother, who holds her responsible for their family’s hardships and subjects her to both verbal and physical assault. Overwhelmed by despair, she suffers a miscarriage in the bathroom—a traumatic event that leaves her physically and emotionally drained.

Grieving and covered in blood, Ruby returns to the church, seeking comfort as she baptizes her miscarried child, offering it to a God she questions. She prays in anguish, her tears mixing with the blood on her face, while Sister Teresa silently watches her pain. Overcome with anger and betrayal, Ruby leaves the church, disappearing into the darkness with no place to go.
